ORDERS OF BUSINESS

REPORTS

Jonah (president)

  • sent in a condensed version of the associations plan for freshers week

  • mentioned the freps and freshers pack 

Megan (publicity and media)

  • freshers and freps guide has been completed

Fliss (VP UG)

  • emailing the company about the jumpers, have sent in the forms and will hopefully get them ordered by the start of october 

  • jumpers will be ordered to their house and the exec members are to pick them up

  • 42 people have signed up for the five random freshers events, sign ups will open indefinitely 


PARENTING SCHEME

  • 130 responses for the parenting undergrad scheme (58 children : 72 parents - half of which are single parents that will be paired up)

  • 9 responses for postgrad parenting scheme

  • will be pairing children and parents up soon for the scheme

  • need to add to facebook page that the scheme will be open till the first week of term (10th of october)

  • Megan to post an instagram story regarding the deadline

  • parenting social to be held on the 24th of october, saturday

INTERSECTIONALITY CAMPAIGN UPDATE

  • working on the survey that can hopefully be posted on sunday

  • next topic that the campaign will be focusing on is disability and lgbt intersectionality, the team has someone doing research on it and Erica will be having a call with her tomorrow to sort it out

  • will also be contacting SwDA for their opinion


FRESHERS WEEK PLANS

  • meet the association q&a

  • wed 7th oct, 3pm, zoom

  • will take questions

  • facebook to have pre submitted questions as well

  • quiz

  • sat 10th oct, 6:30pm 

  • tentative plan, may not actually be a quiz

  • scavenger hunt

  • week after

  • parenting scheme to have a quiz on kahoot during the social

  • either to meet parents face to face or do a video call between parents and children, covid depending

  • possibly will live stream the event so that people have multiple ways to join in

  • parenting scheme to have its own picnic event, covid depending 

DISCORD

  • to have a launch social on it during freshers week

  • to be introduced during the q&a 

  • publicise to freshers 

  • to make it live before the freshers arrive

  • have a proper social that introduces the discord

  • can send off the guides into the various chats; euan, lgbt reps, freshers

  • international freshers possible plan

  • casual plans on the discord, like board games social 

DISMANTLE CAMPAIGN

  • the campaign is planning protest on the 5th, association has stated that we would like more engagement with the campaign

  • will show support, but will leave the managing to the voices of groups like the womxn group and the DPOCA group

DUCK CHARITY

  • DUCK charity has contacted us regarding a college swap and having our own campaign on their platform

  • association plans to collaborate for the college swap, but covid depending

  • will not collaborate with the campaign as we currently have an intersectionality campaign going

OTHER BUSINESS

  • politics society are keen to share a panel in the second term, a lgbt activist panel, activism from different sectors, a MP, minister, then education, then someone local
